JAKARTA - Billboard Music Awards 2021 telah mengumumkan daftar nominasi. The Weeknd pimpin dengan 16 nominasi, diikuti oleh rapper DaBaby dengan 11 nominasi dan mendiang Pop Smoke dengan 10 nominasi.
Dilansir dari People, Jumat (30/4) Gabby Barrett dan Megan Thee Stallion adalah dua nominasi wanita dengan nominasi terbanyak dengan masing-masing sembilan dan tujuh nominasi.
Penghargaan tahun ini didasarkan pada chart tangga lagu dari 21 Maret 2020 hingga 3 April 2021 dengan pemenang berdasarkan interaksi penggemar utama dengan musik, termasuk penjualan lagu, streaming, dan keterlibatan sosial. Sementara kategori Top Social Artist dan Top Collaboration dipilih oleh penggemar.
Beberapa artis bisa membuat sejarah tahun ini. Drake , artis dengan kemenangan terbanyak sepanjang masa dengan 27 kemenangan dapat memecahkan rekornya sendiri karena dinominasikan dalam tujuh kategori.
